Arthur and I have been in the Pyrenean world now for nearly 14 years.
I first saw a Pyrenean Mountain Dog on the television when I was a little girl. The programme was called Belle and Sebastian. I asked my father about the dog and he said it was a Pyrenean Mountain Dog – and no I couldn’t have one! But knew then that one day I would own a beautiful white dog just like the one on television. I never dreamt I would own more than one.
I waited a long time to get my first Pyrenean - he was called Sacha Laudley Daktari (who sadly died in March 2009 at the age of 10.) We did show Sacha and we had a few first placings, his best being a first in his class at Crufts.
By now I had truly got the showing bug and in 2001 I joined the North of England Pyrenean Mountain Dog Club. There I met Linda and Bob Marston and we became firm friends. I had two bitches and three boys from Linda and have had great success in the show ring.
With such a large family of dogs, we decided to move from our home in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and we took on a large project of a Barn conversion, where we lived in a caravan from 2007 to 2009. We moved into our completed Barn Conversion here in Herefordshire on New Years Eve. The dogs have pleasure playing in their own paddock and they just love it!.
